This is Rita, The Crooked Cat. She was found as a feral kitten when I was helping a rescue organization in Denver with TNR (trap-neuter-return) efforts in September 2016. The left side of her face is paralyzed and she had a corneal ulcer that needed medical treatment so I was given an ointment to apply twice a day. The plan was for me to foster her while her eye healed and then work with the rescue to find an adopter.

I quickly fell in love with her strong, playful, affectionate personality and decided to officially adopt her in February 2017. Her perfect little crooked face has inspired so many art projects I’ve lost count. I’ve included some of them below.

To say I am obsessed with her would be an understatement.
