Amber Asakura is a mosaic and micromosaic artist born in Denver and raised in the Arizona desert and Colorado mountains.
Her one-of-a-kind micromosaic jewelry pieces are wearable works of art made from tiny threads of hand-cut glass. She also creates larger mosaic artwork using salvaged broken dishes and other reclaimed materials.
Whether working big or small, she finds peace in the process of breaking things only to put them back together in a new way.
Her work has always been a mix of beautiful, funny, and a little bit weird, just like her. Teaching others the joy of mosaic and micromosaic work and helping them find and embrace their creativity is one of her favorite things.
Amber is also a published food photographer, devoted cat mom, frequent thrift store shopper, and lover of human connection.
